When you arrive at Hearing Freedom, you can expect prompt and professional service from the beginning. Our wonderful and knowledgeable support staff will make you feel welcome until your scheduled appointment time with the Audiologist arrives.
We offer a complimentary hearing screening and consult for those who have concerns about their hearing but are not sure if they would like a complete audiological assessment. The purpose of the screening is to determine if there are any concerns which would warrant further testing. The hearing screening is not as extensive as the complete audiological assessment which will determine the degree and type of hearing loss, thereby serving as a guide for the development of an individualized treatment and intervention plan.
When you schedule an appointment for a complete audiological assessment, the audiologist will perform a comprehensive and extensive hearing test, including a case history, otoscopy, immittance testing, air and bone conduction pure tone testing, speech audiometry in quiet and noise as well as loudness sensitivity testing. After the battery of tests are completed, the Audiologist will thoroughly explain the results and answer any questions you might have. At that time, your Audiologist will recommend the appropriate intervention plan for you.
At Hearing Freedom, we offer comprehensive hearing assessments for geriatric, adult and pediatric (ages 3 and up) patients.
Needs Assessment – Hearing aids &/or Assistive Listening Devices
Based on your test results and an assessment of your individual needs and preferences, your Audiologist will help you individualize your treatment plan and/or products to address your hearing concern. At Hearing Freedom, you are the most important part of the decision making process, and so your opinions and concerns are held paramount in any decision that is made.Your Audiologist will provide you with the honest and accurate information you require to make any decisions about your treatment and rehabilitation. Your opinion and decisions will be respected at all times.
Should you decide to pursue hearing aids or an ALD, your audiologist will program the instrument(s) specifically for your needs and hearing loss. At Hearing Freedom, we use state-of-the-art equipment in order to perform an extensive verification of the hearing instruments before they ever leave the office. Our Audiologists are strong proponents of Real Ear Measurement (REM) techniques; which are objective measurements of the hearing aid output within your individual and unique ear canal. At every fitting, a Real-Ear-Measurement will be performed and the hearing aids will be specifically programmed to fit and work with your ear(s) and hearing loss. This guarantees an individualized experience where the hearing aids are programmed for you uniquely, and not as a one-size-fits-all solution.
90 Day Trial on all HA’s: At Hearing Freedom, we want to make absolutely sure you are completely satisfied with your hearing aids. That is why we offer a 90 day trial period on all of our Hearing Aids. This extensive trial will give you the confidence that you have chosen the right solution for you and your lifestyle.
At Hearing Freedom, we schedule minimally one follow up visit approximately two to three weeks after the fitting appointment. As a patient, you are entitled to as many follow-up appointments thereafter as needed in order to assure that your treatment plan is the most appropriate and accurate treatment possible for your hearing problem. In some cases, hearing aids may require more than one adjustment in order to achieve the best hearing results possible; your Audiologist will be available for as many scheduled follow-up appointments as you may need in order to guarantee that your treatment plan is as effective and comprehensive as possible.
When you purchase hearing aids with us, our services and in-office care of the instruments are guaranteed for the lifetime of the instruments at no charge. This includes professional consultations, audiological assessments, hearing aid adjustments and cleanings, hearing aid verification as well as cerumen management. All of the out-of-office care of the hearing aids is covered by the Manufacturer’s warranty, which typically lasts for 2-3 years. Once the instruments have exceeded their warranty with the manufacturer we will be upfront and honest about any anticipated charges for part replacements or repairs.
We service and repair all makes and models of hearing aids. What cannot be repaired in the office can typically be sent to the Manufacturer for repair.
The Audiologists at Hearing Freedom are trained in cerumen management. We use a lighted curette or specialized vacuum to remove wax accumulation and debris from the ear canals. (It is important to remember if you schedule an appointment for wax removal, and if there is no medical contraindication, to place a few drops of oil in your ears a few days prior to your appointment. This will soften the wax and make it easier to remove.)
We are able to show you an internal picture of your ear canal and ear drum.
Home visits are an option. We possess state of the art portable equipment with which we are able to perform hearing tests, hearing aid verifications, and hearing aid adjustments in the comfort of your home. Please note that home visit fees do apply.
Appointments are available in both French and English.
